Autumn 2 Week 2

This week we have been looking at the story 'The Big Sneeze' to help us learn our sound of the week 'a' pronounced like the sound we make before a big sneeze 'aaaaa' choo! This is also our new phonics action to help us remember the sound by pretending to have a great big sneeze. We have been thinking about objects that begin with the sound 'a', practising forming the letter on tissues and with our magic phonics wands using our letter chatter 'follow the fly all the way round, up, down and flick it away'. We have sent some flash cards home with their homework for you to practise the 'a' sound with them at home.

We have also been learning all about Rememberence Day by enjoying making some poppy crafts and we have been learning about the celebration of Diwali. We have listened to the story of Rama and Sita, looked at traditional Hindu clothes and looked at some Diwali traditions.

Don't forget it is 'Special Shoe Day' on Monday.
