Autumn 2 Week 4

This week the children have been learning our letter of the week 'p' by looking at the story of 'Pirate Pete' by Nick Sharratt. We have been popping bubbles to help us learn our action for 'p,p, Pirate Pete'.

They have had lots of fun making pirate flags, treasure maps and working together to create some fantatsic pirate ships outside! We have made a pirate picnic only using foods that begin with 'p' and we have enjoyed creating our own pirate stories during roleplay.

Nursery have also been looking at the story of 'The Colour Monster' and linking our emotions to the different colours in the story.

Yellow- Happy

Blue- Sad

Red- angry

Black- Scared

Green- Calm

The children have been choosing a colour as they come in to school each day to tell us how they are feeling and explain why they have chosen that particular colour. We have also been working on naming the different colours and we have been on a colour hunt around the classroom.
