This morning Year 1 had a very exciting surprise visit from Blackpool Zoo as a Wow Factor for our topic of 'Animals' that the children are learning about this half term. Blackpool Zoo came to talk to the children about the different body parts of animals and how they differ between different species. Today we have been learning about these animal groups;
Mammals- warm blooded animals that breathe air
Amphibians- animals that live in water but breathe air
Reptiles- animals that breathe air and their skin is covered in scales
Birds- animals that have wings, feathers and lay eggs
Fish- animals that live in water and have fins for swimming
Can your child name any of the animals in each animal group?
