Charities for 2022-2023
Date: 6th Oct 2022 @ 7:30pm
On Monday 3rd October 2022, we have our first School Council Meeting. One of the items on the agenda was to choose a local, a national and a world charity to support. We had lots of ideas for worthwhile causes but after lots of discussion, we have decided to support the following charities this year.
LOCAL CHAIRTY
We decided to support TogMind for the amazing work they do in supporting individuals, both children and adults, and in supporting families with their mental health and wellbeing, within our local community.
NATIONAL CHAIRTY
As a school council we were keen to support Guide Dogs for the Blind because we recognise the importance of the work they do in training dogs so that people with visual impairement can become more independent and mobile.
WORLD CHARITY
We began the work for the Link to Hope Charity Appeal last academic year. The shoeboxes that we make will go to the poorest people in Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria and Romania. Unlike many other shoebox appeals, this scheme collects boxes for entire families and the elderly, so nobody's left out.
