Comparing numbers

In maths we have been doing lots of activities which involve comparing numbers using the following language: more than, less than, most, least and equal to. We began by finding one more and one less than numbers and then moved onto comparing a few different numbers.

First, we counted out cubes and wrote how many we had on a whiteboard. Then we used our new mathematical language to compare each other's numbers. We then found different numbers on number lines and were asked to find numbers which were more or less. We finished by having a go at explaining what the mathematical language means in our own words.

We did really well!
