Diwali- our visit to the Temple

We were extremely lucky to be invited to visit the 'BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir' Temple in Ashton, to celebrate Diwali. Each year the Temple opens its doors to Canon Burrows, so our children can experience the festivities of Diwali. We were amazed by the beautiful decorations, and wonderful food that the community donate for the celebration. 

Whilst we were there, we took part in many different activities: we had the opportunity to dress up in traditional clothing and contributed to a piece of art work. We also coloured beautiful Diwali lamps. 

As we left, we were given woven bracelets as a sign of friendship. We would like to thank everyone that was involved in providing us with such a rich learning opportunity, and we appreciated being part of the celebrations.
