Harvest with Friends
Date: 23rd Oct 2018 @ 3:21pm
At Canon Burrows, we pride ourselves on the Christian values which we try to live out each day. One of these is friendship, which we work on continuously. This year, as has become an annual tradition, it was time for years 3 and 4 from Canon Johnson and both year 4 classes from Canon Burrows to come together and celebrate the harvest, culminating in a special joint church service.
Firstly, the teachers had a meeting and planned exciting activities for the children to participate in. Children from both schools went and mixed with friends from their sister school. Some of the crafts enjoyed involved making grass heads, gratitude wreaths, hedgehog dream-catchers and a joint tree was made with children's hand prints. These pieces of art were then made into a joint display at church.
On 10th October, a joint service was held by both schools at Christ Church where we worshipped and thanked God for all of our blessings. Thank you to all the staff at Canon Johnson for running craft workshops and accompanying us in the church. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the parents who joined us on the day and the Reverend for blessing us at the service.
