Potato planting

On the final week of the spring term the vegetable beds were planted up with potatoes. This has become an annual event at Canon Burrows and as many children as possible were involved from all classes.

The Junior members of the Eco committee supervised the reception children first and almost all the pupils from both classes helped with the planting. Groups of children then came in turn from years one to six and all three vegetable plots were filled.

Since we have returned from the Easter holidays the warm sun has done its job and shoots have pushed through the soil. We now need some gentle April showers and hopefully we will have a good harvest before we break up at the end of the school year.
