Sorting 2D Shapes

Today we looked at all the 2D shapes that we have been learning about over the last week. We thought about different ways that we could sort them into different groups. We sorted them based on their properties: corners and sides. We sorted into shapes with straight sides and curved sides, corners and no corners, sides and no sides. Some of us also had a go at our shape challenges to make different 2D shapes out of lollipop sticks. We discovered that we couldn't make a circle because it has curved sides, not straight. Well done Year 1!
