The Three Little Pigs

This week Nursery have been learning through our new story of 'The Three Little Pigs'. We have been exploring different objects from around the classroom to see which materials we could make blow away using a hairdryer to pretend to be the big bad wolf. The children were able to describe what materials the different objects were made from and made predictions before we tested them to say what they thought would happen. We then discussed what materials their homes were made from and looked at the results of our experiment to say what else would be a strong material to use to build a house which the big bad wolf wouldn't be able to blow down.
We have been sequencing the story together using our storymap and learning what the different parts of a book are called. The children have also been exploring creating pictures using different types of materials to represent the straw, stick and brick house in the story.
