Update on Learning

We have had a great week describing Supertato and the Evil Pea. We have been writing labels and simple sentences using our ideas. As well as this, we have continued to retell the story and use actions to help us remember the sequence and language that we should use.

Our mission has been to try to find the Evil Pea. Over the weekend, we lay a trap of jelly to try to capture him. We found many peas captured on Monday morning and since then we have been using the tweezers to help us collect them and count to see how many we caught. We have then checked to see if the ‘Evil Pea’ is one of them.

We have been practising our simple addition and subtraction using vegetables and we will continue to use them next week when we will be learning about heavy and light; and ordering objects by weight.

Mrs Lataster’s Reception Class were lucky enough to go on ‘The Canon Burrows Bee Trail’ with their Year 6 buddies this week. It was lovely to see how determined they were to find all 22 bees and how well they worked together. With the support of their buddy they were able to work out what the words were in the back of the booklet. Miss Mackenzie’s class will be going out in the next couple of weeks to hunt for the Bees so look out for the booklets in their book bags.

On Sunday a few of us will be taking part in the Family Service at Christ Church. Please feel free to join us. The service begins at 10.30am.

Next week on Friday 7^th February we will be having a Super Hero party

Design and write an invitation to my class for our special super hero party.

For this home-school task please design and create an invitation to your class, inviting them to our special superhero party. When writing the invitation remember to write down who you are inviting, write the date of the event and where it will take place. Don’t forget to write who the invitation is from. Be creative and personalise your invitation with pictures and designs. We look forward to reading out your invitations in class.
